The one area where you might want to have a deeper look is the Settings menu – accessible from the main sidebar. This is where you can find all the key settings of your site, such as the name, general info, integrations with other tools, payment options, currency, and a lot more. Even if you don’t end up changing anything there, it’s still a good idea to have a look at these options and see what’s available.

If you’re using Wix’s free plan, then you won’t be able to use a regular domain name like “www.mysite.com” or “www.mysite.net” (domains like this come with Wix’s paid plans). Instead, your site will follow the format www.yourname.wixsite/yoursite, which is enough to get it up and running. But if you’re going for a more professional look, then we recommend upgrading to a paid plan to secure a more polished domain!
To add a blog to your WIX site it is very simple. There is a specific element to add your blog to your site. Depending on your theme. To manage your blog, go to your blog manager and from here you can easily add a new blog post. Titles should be engaging to draw readers in and you usually can set an author. In the body of the blog images and text can be added. You can also add your post into categories, which help to separate blogs into specific folders. This is due to people being interested in different blogs. Tags can also be added, which help with SEO. Once you’re finished creating a blog post, publish the post to your site.
The buttons/arrows which users can use to move from slide to slide can be edited also within the settings. These can be edited to match your websites theme. An animation can be set for the slideshow. This is how the slides come into view. Most animations are a bit crazy and swirl into screen whereas some are more professional and come into view gently and appropriately for a professional website. To edit any text on the slideshow, just double click on any text. Buttons can be direct to other pages of the website or other websites, both using a URL/web address.
With the initial questions out of the way, Wix will ask you if you trust the ADI enough to let it build an example website for you, or if you want to build everything by hand. Going with the ADI is a much more efficient approach, especially since you can come back later on and customize every little detail of your site. You’re not stuck with the initial suggestions that Wix gives you.
However, this lack of creative control can be frustrating. Wix ADI is not nearly as flexible as Wix Editor, which offers smooth drag-and-drop design and easily editable text boxes. So, while you can enjoy simplicity with both Wix tools, the Wix Editor offers more freedom. It also builds more personal sites, thanks to its Premium plan upgrades and wide choice of apps.
Once in the navigation, you can choose between many different styles of menus. Once you choose the navigation you would like, WIX will automatically include each of your pages within the navigation bar. To place on your page, just drag and drop. Once on your page, you can fix to the whichever size you would like. Big or small, it is up to you. Also remember to place within the header of the page, as the navigation will then show on each page of your site.

By this point, you’ve customized your site’s template and added some solid images and pages. But if your site still feels a little plain, there’s no need to worry – adding some exciting bells and whistles is a lot easier than it seems. Wix’s App Market has over 250 amazing applications to boost your site, and they cover everything from restaurant orders to interactive quizzes. The apps don’t just look great, either – they also provide your website with the modern interface necessary to stay competitive.
Apart from editing what’s inside your content sections, you can also change the overall designs of the sections themselves. For instance, when we hover the mouse cursor over the “My Treatments” section, a small button pops up in the top left corner labeled “Design.” After clicking on it, a whole new panel shows up with some alternative design styles to choose from:
However, the smart ADI assistant is far more restrictive than Wix Editor. So if you’ve been inspired to really put your stamp on your site – or if you’re simply not happy – you can easily switch to Wix Editor mode whenever you like. Think about it, though, because it’s harder to reverse the process; you’d need to save your last ADI version, then restore it.
Similarly to adding almost anything to your site, to add a gallery, you use the add element again. Each gallery you will see will be different from each other. From professional looking galleries to the less so professional. Wherever you choose to place a gallery on your site, always make sure the images are appropriate for the page or your website.

Once you know all what you can do with WIX, it is time to start your build. One of the first parts of your website design should be the page design. To do this, all you need to do is double click the page you’re working on and the page design box should appear. If it doesn’t click on the ‘Change Page Design’ bubble. It should automatically show instead.
